We can't say it is waterproof because is it is submerged into water, it will be damaged. The moss are mounted on a 16'x24 inches flexible mat. As long as humidity is around 40% or more, there is no need to wet the it. If the environment in which they are installed is dry, you can spray a water mist twice a week. So we don't think that is able to damage your wall because the mist won't go thru the mat.
