Hi there,
Although many people use this tile for shower walls it is not the first recommendation. Because it's a natural stones and of its texture the tile becomes a high maintenance one. You can use a sealant on its surface and maybe a water proof silicone on the edges and on top. You can also use a water membrane to keep water from getting in.
