They may be cut using a glass nipper - available at home improvement stores for about U$10. The material used to make this mosaic are clear glass, however what gives the color - white in this case, is a coating applied on the back of each tile. Even if this had not the peel & stick mat, you wouldn’t be able to see the color of the wall where they are to be installed.
