What is porcelain tile? A question that many people makes all the time.

Porcelain Tile is a type of ceramic cooked at higher temperature using fine clays and other minerals. It has less water absorption (almost zero) than standard ceramic tile, which makes it a perfect product for cold areas where water may freeze during winter.

But the bottom line is that because porcelain tile has more commercial value, the ceramic tile industry puts much effort by applying the latest technology into porcelain tiles. As a result we have nowadays porcelain tiles that look like wood, marble, limestone etc. in many finishes such as matte, polished, and flamed. 

Most of these porcelain tiles are also rectified, which means a precise cut with an industrial machine that allows the tiles be installed with a smaller grout joint such as 1/16".
